Alarm rings.

Close the alarm and snooze for 2 minutes.

Woke up and told myself

Today is the day!

Yes.
Today is the day..

The long-awaited dental appointment after the day I put on my braces.

In delight and excitement, I wash up and prepare myself to go to the clinic.

Tik tok...

Tik tok...

7.40am

Received a sms from Q.

Q is the person I always rent car from.
Nervous...I thought he has reach my place..

I've booked his car, rent from 8am to 11am.

Read his sms which sounds like this:

"Li kar, i'm so sorry..my car have a problem.it can't start.."

WHAT??!

HOW TO FIND A CAR REPLACEMENT NOW?

I'm supposed to depart from hostel at 8am.

Sms-ed two friends who own a car.
No reply.
Called.
No one pick up the call too.

I quickly turn on my lappy and browse through the car renting FB page to see any car is still available for rent this morning.

Oh God, please help me!

I called several car owner but unfortunately their cars are all fully booked since the convocation ceremony starts today.

Frustrated.

I started to get angry with Q.

I sms-ed him
"What is the problem?"

"Maybe the starter.." he replied.

I doubt that.

Yesterday midnight, he asked me whether he can send me the car later than 8am.

I told him that I have appointment at 9am, giving him a hint that he cant send me his car later than 8am.

He understood and told me he will send the car on time this morning.

Liar!

I'm angry.
If he told me honestly that he can't rent the car to me last night, I would have more time to find a replacement.

What if he is not lying?

What if he really can't starts his car?

Cool, cool, Li Kar...

Convincing myself not to blame Q.

8.10am

Still browsing through the FB page, make a few calls and the result is still negative.
sigh..

Please help me, O God.

I was so worried that I nearly cry.

I do not want to postpone the appointment.
I've waited today for 6 weeks, sigh..

Suddenly C came to my mind!
C is the first person I contacted for car renting when I first moved into the main campus.

I rent his car once four months ago and never contact him again since then.

Search for his contact number in my contact list.

Argh!

I did not save his number back then.

Continue to browse through the FB page, hoping to see the advertisement that he posted there.

Yes!
Found it!

Called him and the result was positive~

The good news was his car is available for the whole morning.
THANKS GOD!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH, O LORD!

C immediately send me his car

and I was able to reach the dental clinic 5 minutes before 9am.

God step in and lend me a hand just in time!

Halleluyah~!

What I learned today is

do not worry, God will help, He will provide.

Keep Calm because God is in Control.

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

1 Peter 5:6-7

The Tongue

"...Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.

The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 

but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness.

Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.

Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?

My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water."

James 3:5-12

The tongue is sharper than a two-edged sword. It reveals who we are on the inside.

There's this Malay saying;

"Kerana pulut santan binasa, Kerana mulut badan binasa."

The tongue is a great destroyer. However, if we use it wisely, it can bring about positive power in life.
The bible says,

"The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life..."

Proverbs 15:4

Let not our tongue brings Death, but speak only words that are edifying.

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."

Ephesians 4:29

"As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."
